TTHE GATES EAST REZONING ENTERS ITS FINAL STAGES

When the City Council members who make up the Blueprint Denver Committee reviewed the Gates Rezoning Proposals on October 27th, they were concerned enough about the potential over-crowding and traffic impact of the Proposal that they withheld their approval of the rezoning. They sent it to the Transportation Committee (also made up of Council members) for further study. The Transportation Committee handles transit-oriented planning and could ask for more information or traffic studies. They meet on Tuesday, November 9th at 1:30 PM. (4th floor of City and County Building).

This means that the first reading of the rezoning proposal before City Council could not happen before November 15 at the earliest. Also, that would delay the final vote before City Council until at least December 13th. If the rezoning proposal is held up longer in the Committee, these dates could be even later. We will keep you posted.

The City Council is listening! The email addresses of Council and the Mayor are listed below. It is imperative that you send in your feedback now.

Any feedback that you email to the City Council is read and considered! If you have any opinions about these Rezoning Proposals, the City officials need to hear from you now. Remember, they only receive the positive reports about the Gates rezoning and development. It does not have to be elaborate or long...a few sentences because they are now aware of many of the negative aspects of the Gates project. Just tell them who you are, that you are a member of PPRC, where you live and how you feel about the rezoning or development. PPRC would appreciate a copy of you letter!
